For the second year in a row, HAPO Community Credit Union has made a $4,000.00 donation to Franklin PUD’s Helping Hands Program. Helping Hands provides qualifying low-income Franklin PUD customers with assistance to help pay their electric bill.
“This year has been so challenging and this donation will make a difference for many families this winter season. Energy use increases with the colder temperatures. The colder it is, the more energy it takes to keep your house warm which will reflect on your bill. This can put a hardship on customers who are already living with limited resources,” says Scott Rhees, Franklin PUD’s General Manager. “We are thankful for HAPO’s compassion for our community and their commitment to Helping Hands. We want to do all we can to make sure we have a variety of programs and services available to our customers when they need it, and our Helping Hands program is a great example of that.”
Helping Hands funds are administered by Community Action Connections (CAC) in Pasco. Recipients must meet income guidelines. For information on receiving assistance from Helping Hands, contact CAC at 509-545-4042.
