Call 811 Before Starting Digging Projects

Your life may depend on it!

To ensure your safety and protect underground utilities you should always “Call Before You Dig.” Notify utilities of your intent to dig by calling 811 or making an online request at www.call811.com. Digging into underground lines can cause outages, costly damage, cause injury and even death.

Washington State requires you to contact 811 at least two business days before you begin any digging, including common projects like planting trees and shrubs or installing fences and mailboxes. This will allow utilities to send out locators to mark buried lines with paint or flags. On average, between 7-8 utility operators are notified for each request.

So, before you start digging – know what’s below!
