Franklin PUD is teaming up with the Pasco Police Department to improve the safety of our neighborhoods by promoting proper outdoor lighting. We have been working with them for the last couple years, but wanted to kick the campaign up a notch by adding short videos for social media and also have the officers increase the distribution of door tags now that it’s getting dark earlier.
When officers are out on night patrol and they come across a really dark house, they will leave a friendly door tag that gives tips on how they can improve their lighting, along with information on how to find resources if they can’t make the improvements themselves. This is where we come in! We provide bulbs to people who receive the door tags. The door tags are also left for community members who have done an outstanding job lighting their home – something that officers and first responders appreciate. We’ll let you know when they go live! Stay tuned!
